Finding rest

In this day and age rest is a foreign word to all of us. We seek it in front of the Tv, we seek it in escaping to a place, we seek it in so many worldly things, but it is not there. True rest only comes in the Lord, in knowing him, praying and reading. He gives us rest.

Currently I am reading through Elizabeth George's book "Powerful Promises For Every Woman" She directs the book out of Psalm 23. The Psalm full of promises to us from our Lord. One of the things that He promises is rest- "He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul..." only the Lord leads us to a place of rest, one where we can lie down with him and see what it is he would have us see!

May you find rest today in Our Lord Jesus!!

  1. There was no way to comment on the videos you added. So cute! So fun! You seem to have a wonderful family. I love that you all have such a good time together!

And Noah is cralling! It all happens too fast, doesn't it? It was so cute that you could hear the Big, Big World song in the background. I used to sing Olivia to sleep with that song....

He works at an amusement park, and is around people all day long who standards, or morals do not quite match what we(through God's grace) have tried to instill in him. All day long he is whispered at about what he should have, and what he should be doing at "his age".  Today while reading the Word these verses stood out.... Proverbs 23 15  My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. 16  Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things. 17  Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the  Lord  all the day long His heart started to "envy" what these whisperers were saying to him and started to feel like he has been missing out on something in life.  Really?  How do we envy sinners?  How do we as professing believers say "
