Topic Study: Pride

We have started our new curriculum and may I say though we are struggling through understanding it. It is FANTASTIC. I truly do love it.  This weeks Topic Study is on Pride. Oh yes the ultimate sin, the thing that creeps up on each us. Pride:         Pride is a way one elevates themselves above others, thinking that they are better than someone else. Pride is also a way one sin’s against another by thinking they do not  have to submit to one’s authority.        Pride can destroy and take over one’s heart. The heart becomes hardened and they think they do things in their own understanding. Example Nebuchadnezzar, He believed his kingdom was built by his own hands and not by the Hands of the Lord. The Lord can humble anyone who walks in pride. (Daniel 1-4)      Pride runs ramped in all of our hearts. Pride prevents me from being honorable and submissive to my husband. Pride keeps me from turning away wrath. As long as I allow pride to dominate in my life I can not live out

Internet Protection

I am not sure how many of your children use the internet whether it be for playing online games, facebook, or email but there is two must have programs that will protect your children from "accidently" going to a website they should not see, and the other records their activities for you so you can see where they have been, and if they were chatting with someone. Both are these are FREE services and work great! I have used Blue Coat K-9 for years. The second one I just learned about and it is a great service http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ http://www.gomcgruff.com/m/index.asp?Visits=3 please be sure that you enter in my email address for this one- for everyone person that signs up I get credit- not for money but towards more features on the software! I hope you will take the time to protect your computers and your children. Angie

We are home…

the trip went so fast. The week before we left seemed to drag because of the anticipation we all had in going to Missouri. We arrived there safe with a beautiful sunset. It was such a smooth drive, and so easy. Honor was truly shocked and surprised to see us.   The weekend was NO FUN- there were way to many people there, kids being loud, TV’s going, my brother being unkind, but I was happy to see my sister. It is hard to be so far away and not be able to participate in her life. Once the weekend ended peace was restored, and normalcy returned to my sister’s home.  We hung out, ran around together, and just enjoyed each other’s company. Friday came in a flash- the drive home WAS LONG! ugh- I decided to try a different way home- and my Navigator- Paul fell a sleep on me, so I was driving blind.  After 14 hours of driving we made it home and was I happy to see my beloved. It was hard to be away from him. The peace he brings the family, and guidance he brings to each of us is not

BFS #122 - Say It With Flowers (FTD)

Memory Verse - II Corinthians 4:18 - While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Introduction - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; isn't that what we've always been told.  I find beauty in many things and in most people.  There's beauty in a flower, according to FTD as well, there's beauty in trees,  animals, people, and I'd have to say, as I'm sure that most people agree that there's beauty in watching a child grow. Assignment - Look around your space, look into your heart and share the beauty you see or feel with the rest of us.   Sunset in Springfield,Missouri- reminder of how Glorious and wonderful our Creator is. Wanders…

Today as I read my devotion it was based from Exodus- it talked about the Israelites exit from Egypt and of course all the wonderful miracles the Lord provided for that exit. As I read,  I saw myself in the words. For the last 6 years we have moved every 18 months. We have wandered around, seeking what? What is it that we are looking for? Why does it seems sometimes that we are so alone in this journey? I have seen God’s miracles in my life. I know He is with me but yet I am still wandering and at times like the Israelites I lose faith out of fear, or discouragement. We are still wandering. My prayers is that He will not leave me wandering for 40 years, that the end is near for our wandering days. I pray He will lead us into the land flowing with milk and honey, so that we can glorify HIS name! Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with you today…

What does being a mother mean to you?

I was reading a blog that I love My charming Kids by McMama- and she was talking about mothering.  Her story got me thinking about what mothering means to me?  Mine is not as profound and hers and ,of course, I have no books to give away, but here is what being a mother means to me:   It has been 18 years since my beloved and I decided(or actually God decided) to start our family. I intended my life for other things, travel, business success, and an esteemed education. The Lord had other plans for me! When I first found out I was pregnant it put a wave of shock and fear through me. Shock because the last thing I planned on was a baby.;-) Fear because was I even good enough to be a mother. How could I take care of baby when I was making so many mistakes in my life? The moment I saw his precious face, and held his little hand I was hooked. This little creature was mine I helped create it, WOW, that amazed me. His every move, yawn, cry, I watched with amazement and ,of course,

Bible Purse…

Often times I buy a bible cover for my bible- but when you have more than one that can bet a bit pricey- so I decided to see if there was a pattern online. There was not pattern but there was instructions, so by following those instructions- I made my first bible purse- and it actually has straps long enough that you can carry your bible like a purse.. It is cool.   Notice how my model- Reia- can strap that bible right on her shoulder.       Aww a perfect fit! See how snug the bible is in the case?!! GREAT- thanks Reia!

Blogger Friend School Assignment #119

Assignment:  This week I thought we could share what great ways we have found to help with all we have to do. Through the years when my little ones were young. I spent alot of time training them to be helpful, thoughtful and know that a family functions as a unit. Though in those days I did everything on my own as time past and each one of them grew, they grew to be help, caring, considerate blessings in my life. Besides the obvious getting face down in front of God, what have you found that works? Consistency and prayer of course! I developed a routine of things that needed to be done daily, and weekly. Have you done a great bible study that deals with this area?  No Do you have a certain “thing” that  really helps you like a planner or gadget?  Everything that needs to be remembered gets put on my calendar that is part of my email program. I have it set with alarms for reminders Do you have a certain bible verse that just speaks to you and you have it posted so you

Homemade Supplies

I just recently made homemade laundry soap- it was so easy to make and only took a fraction of time- cost $10.00 and it will last a very long time. (650  loads of laundry!) The greatest thing about it is you can make it  in any  scent so your clothes smell exactly like you want them too. Homemade Laundry Soap I also just recently got a “recipe” for dishwashing soap- which is made from the same ingredients that you make your laundry soap so I had the items on hand. Dishwashing Soap: Mix and use per dishwasher load: 1 Tablespoon Borax 1 Tablespoon Baking soda OR Mix equal parts Borax and Baking Soda, and add 2 Tablespoons per load. Increase proportion of soda for hard water. Use vinegar in the rinse cycle. Works GREAT!! Let me know if you try it out!

Will Over God’s Word

Many times in my marriage I have had the biggest battle going on inside of me over requests or tasks asked of me by my beloved husband. Here is an example:  My dear beloved decided that it was best for us to go and spend Sunday afternoon  at his brother’s house. They were going to be watching the Super Bowl, like many American households, having friends and family over. My beloved decided thought this to be a good time for fellowship. Personally I did not want to go.  Let me give you a few reasons why: I had to prepare for my schooling week, I NEVER watch football,  and watching a football game is not “fellowship”, but regardless what I wanted he made the decision. I  felt forced to go-honestly. I, of course , suggested that he and the children can go and I can stay to accomplish my tasks. He negated that idea as soon as it escaped from my lips. NO we will go as a family, he said. With resentment building, I prepared myself for the evening. As I prepared myself, I had this inner dia
