Saying goodbye is never easy

Today we went to a funeral of a dear sister. As I sat there listening to the Pastor speak of this dear woman of God and all the wonderful ministry she served in her life, I could not help but think of what would be said about me? Victoria left a legacy behind. She was known for her love for Jesus, her love for the inner city forgotten children. Her and her husband would brave parts of the city that no " normal" evangelist would go. She always had such a connection with the Lord that she knew when it was safe or unsafe. I was in awe as I sat there learning more about this gracious, loving warrior for the King. She passed into Glory with these last words on her lips " I shall live and not die". She knew that though she may be leaving her earthly vessel she was not passing on to an eternal death but onto an eternal life with Jesus. At this moment she is walking the streets of gold with our Savior. Oh what a sweet thought that is. What about you? Do you know where you

Hi/Lo Thursday

This post is part of "Hi/Lo Thursday" on the Riggs Family Blog . Check out their blog to read everyone else's "Hi/Lo" posts and get your link on their site.     Hi- Realizing that Paul’s issues is not a life threatening situation. A cyst on his malformed Pituitary gland is not bad. We are also grateful that he has little to NO pain in the days that we have been waiting to go see the surgeon. (which is Monday March 30th) Lo- The pain in realizing that though Paul will be fine there are so many other brothers and sisters out there who are watching there children suffer with severe illnesses. I wish in some way I could hug each and every one- and just tell them how much they are loved! Things in life shift so quickly to normal and fine, to heartbreaking in a blink of an eye. I can not imagine living through these situations without Christ. May Christ be your source of your Strength and peace with each challenge you face.

[BloggerFriendSchool] #125 Let Your Fingers Do the Walking (Yellow Pages)

Assignment: I'd like you to choose a word, find the Hebrew or Greek original word, and then dig into it's full meaning. My Word is Forgiveness. Forgiveness- in Hebrew is cĕliychah- means to pardon. The first time this word forgiveness is used is in Psalm 130:3-4 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But [there is] forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. A reminder that the Lord forgives our iniquities if not who can stand before Him? Forgiveness comes from the root word forgive. Forgive-in Hebrew is nasa' – means to lift, carry or bear up. It shows up in scripture for the first time in Genesis 50:17 Joseph’s brothers are asking him for forgiveness of the trespasses they caused against him. 0r Forgive in Hebrew is aphiēmi- means to disregard, to let go, give up debt. Which this meaning does not show up in scripture until the Lord prayer, Math 6:12.   Forgiving or Forgiveness seems to be a trait that we

My weekend…

My weekend was spent at home catching up on things that I am never able to do during the week. I baked bread Saturday, made knocks-blocks(which we call knock out blocks), and coconut cookies(healthy snack full of protein), and I re-covered  my rocking chair. I should have taken a before photo- but here is an after photo-   I love how it turned out. Sunday- the men worked all day- so I spent the day listening to sermons and cutting out material for cloth napkins. They turned out great. so now we are not only have something pretty to put on the table but also eco-friendly!  I had busy hands, what did you do this weekend?

Femininity- what is it?

This topic got brought up here at The Stay at home Missionary. my response got to be too long- so I thought I would share and post it on my blog. I wish I could say I have clear picture of what true Femininity is. Unfortunately it is so distorted by the Worlds view, and  then a feministic view which was portrayed by my mother. So what is femininity in my eyes? Femininity- is a gentle soul, who speaks with kindness always, not only when there is company. One who is creative in everything she does, sewing, cleaning, and cooking. One who dresses in clothing that shows she is beautiful, delicate and pretty.  I do not envision just dresses in this. One who loves the Lord with all of heart and lives with wisdom at her side. One whose true radiance and glow is from the Holy Spirit. One who is Humble Are these all realistic? Can you be all these things? What is femininity in your eyes?

A name for the “Small Mass”-

We have a name for the “small mass” on my son’s pituitary- it is called a Rathke Cleft Cyst.  If you go here it has a great description http://moon.ouhsc.edu/kfung/JTY1/Com04/Com403-1-Diss.htm as you can see the symptoms can get pretty severe- if untreated. So we have an appointment on the 30th of March to go discuss treatment with the Neurosurgeon! By His Graces it was not something more severe!   Thank you for praying Angie

BFS #124 - The Easy Button

Assignment - This week I would like you to post any prayer requests you have. What is going on in your life that you need prayer warriors for? When this assignment came through I was going to share  prayer request for a much needed rental home, and new job for my beloved, but in a blink of an eye those things were no longer a concern. A truly serious, and sobering matter occurred. I was not sure how to share with all of you this matter- and how desperate I was. I was not sure how to even lift my eyes towards heaven for fear that he would not hear me, or not even want what I was wanting.  I was not sure I could handle a loss of my child. My baby- my eldest- He is 18 years old, 6 days ago he started to develop these sharp pains that would shoot to the back of his eyes. At first he described them as a headache, but he realized it was not headache, and started to complain more of the pain, and stated that pain relievers were not working. I made a doctors appointment. When the doctor exam

Large family Toothbrush Holder

Ugh toothbrush holders, I get so frustrated with them because one they do not make them for large families, two if you get it with predrilled holes they do not make the holes big enough for some of the toothbrushes on the market. I had taken to putting the toothbrushes in this basket NASTY- the toothbrushes touch, the basket gets wet-UGH. I was determined to do something about it so I went online in search for a large family homemade toothbrush holder. The search took me to this blog Home Full of Boys and this wonderful and smart person made a family toothbrush holder out of a hand towel.  Hand Towel Toothbrush holder Post . So here was my solution to the basket mess! Yes I embroidered the Sellers Family on there and modified it to hang off of a hanger. I am using a small curtain hanger, it is not quite the hanger I was wanting but it will do for now! What do you think?

Fashion Week- over at Stay at home Missionary

Homeschool Memoirs #28: Life Skills

Tell us about your experience with teaching life skills. Did you have a big family project that provided a wonderful teaching opportunity? One year I decided to teach my children society’s point of view for caring for the elderly. We started to volunteer at this state ran Elderly and rehabilitation center. After just a few visits the children started to mourn over the elderly who were stuck in this facility and never thought of again. Through history the elderly were cared for by the families. Grandma or grandpa or both moved in with their son or daughter to be cared for till they passed on into Glory. Elderly facilities did not come into play until the time that life went into hyper-speed. When families started being involved in many activities outside of the home, is when they were too busy to band together to take care of Grandma or grandpa or both. I  wanted them to see how unloved these elderly felt, how lonely and how they felt abandoned by their loved ones. They had li
