Being Fruitful in Knowledge

2 Peter 1: 8

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that  you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What does it mean to be fruitful in knowledge?

Some would say to know the Word by memory, and be very smart in all things. Is that what this verse is speaking of?

Knowledge in this verse means-

epignōsis

Pronunciation

e-pē'-gnō-sēs (Key)-

1) precise and correct knowledge

a) used in the NT of the knowledge of things ethical and divine.

We are to have knowledge of all things ethical and divine of Our Lord Jesus and yes that means knowing and reading the Word, but that also means knowing His voice from any other voice. Or knowing what the Lord would have you do any given circumstance.

How do you know when the Lord is leading you?

How do you recognize His voice?

Jhn 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me

Know in this verse is the Greek word-γινώσκω ginōskō

1) to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel

a) to become known

2) to know, understand, perceive, have knowledge of

a) to understand

b) to know

3) Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman

4) to become acquainted with, to know

We know His voice through constant communion with Him.

Would you join me this week in asking for wisdom from our Lord in every situation, and discerning His voice above the rest?

At the end of week- I will share what the Lord has done for me this week, and of course I want to hear from all of you as well!!

May the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you dear Saints of Christ!!

Angie

Whisperings

Some of you know I have lots of children. Seven to be exact, and most of them are older and Most of them are young men except for one boy.   Lately one of my youngmen have been struggling. He works at an amusement park, and is around people all day long who standards, or morals do not quite match what we(through God's grace) have tried to instill in him. All day long he is whispered at about what he should have, and what he should be doing at "his age".  Today while reading the Word these verses stood out.... Proverbs 23 15  My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. 16  Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things. 17  Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the  Lord  all the day long His heart started to "envy" what these whisperers were saying to him and started to feel like he has been missing out on something in life.  Really?  How do we envy sinners?  How do we as professing believers say "

Day two
