Vacation Part 2

I had meant to post before this time but needless to say I have been busy. We did get on the plane as you guessed. The plane ride did not go smoothly. Duck did get sick a few times. Finally the exhaustion caught with him but he did not sleep long. The plane ride was a representation of the day. Turbulant and rough- just the begin of the climax of the day. The pilot did excellent getting us through the rough weather. We landed got our bags, got on the shuttle to get the rental. ( only to leave Noahs car seat on the bus) That is when the real fun began! Because of the finances we rented two mid-size cars for two weeks. The rental guy sweet talked us into upgrading( at the same cost) to a vehicle that we could fit in. Of course we were thinking great we get to ride together. Yeah until we found the car in the rental parking lot. Remember there is 8 of us- with 8 suitecases! How did they expect us to fit 8 suitecases in this space?? Back to the rental counter we went after two and half hou

Vacation has begun

The vacation has begun and did it start with a bang. I got up early to see if my sister made it to the airport. And could not get back to sleep with 1000 things running through my head. I stayed up and sewed a skirt.(very cute by the way) Slowly the house started to awake and the ( half grown) children were just chattering away a mile an hour. Talking and excited about their first plane ride. Duck ( which is the babe) was the last to wake and not on his own. His sister had to wake him. He came out excited knowing this was the day he was going to ride on a plane- and no sooner did he say a few words did he get sick all over the carpet. At that moment I froze knowing that this was going to be a rough morning. We continued to get dress stopping periodically to tend to our sick Duck. We were closing suitecases and loading things up when we realized my suitecases would not close right( I bought it used) in fear of my underwear being sprawled across the bottom of the plane we switched suitec

New Friends...

We have been attending a church for about a month or more. Times goes quickly and it is easy to lose track of it. It is a small church with lots of wonderful people. (small meaning less than 500 people) On a Sunday morning the sanctuary is packed. On Wednesday- everyone is serving in one area or another. It is an active church. Active in each others lives, as well as active in their community. It is a church where the old are revered and the young are encouraged to seek God in all things. The Pastors- two strong men for the Lord. One more serious, but his face lights up when he is talking about the things of the Lord. The other more fun loving but more serious when he is standing before the crowd. The Men more quiet reserved, and not as friendly and not as ready to carry the burdens of a brother.  The women friendly, loving and ready to serve, and willing to encourage. Very opposite of the men. It is amazing as you travel around and you live in as many places as we have you notice a pa
