“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. (Matthew 7:1, 2 ESV)
This is often quoted by believers- as an excuse for others not to hold each other accountable in their sin. This verse is not telling you that you are not to keep brothers and sisters accountable, what it is reminding us of is our hearts condition,We are to be reminded that when we are holding one another accountable we are not to deem ourselves better than they are. All are wretched on the eyes of God!
Also when we are looking upon a sinner- remember though their sin is wretched in the eyes of God and sometimes is not very pretty for us to look at either. You stood in that same wretchedness at one time...
Who are you passing judgement on? Or have you passed judgement on?
Remember that same judgement we pass on others will be the measure of judgement that will be given to us-
