American Home Education blog post

Dear Ones- as a blogger I  love to write of course but I also love to share some of my own passions with you. One of my passions, and convictions is homeschooling. People wonder why I homeschool? I have many reasons but one is to give my Someday to be Warrior for Christ the correct foundation so that HE can fight the good fight of faith.

Do you wonder about homeschooling? Then the mention of a conference comes up... do you wonder if going to a conference is worth it? I say YES resoundingly but dont just take my word for it... read what Cindy Nicolai has to say about her first homeschooling experience

It is worth you time

Daily scripture and thoughts

Dear ones it has been a while.. life has been on a crazy whirlwind. Trying to balance family, ministries and schooling has been truly a balancing act... though I have not posted praise The Lord He keeps me in His Word- my desire to hear from Him, be like Him and be guided by Him never ceases.

We had started Galatians-- and so that is where we will continue

Galatians 1:11-24
Paul Called by God
For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man 's gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord' s brother. (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” And they glorified God because of me.

In these verses we find that Paul is briefly explaining to us what happened-- proving He is of Christ. I can only imagine - what was going through these church leaders head when they would receive a letter from Paul. " You mean Paul- the man who was going around killing Christians??"  They probably wondered what he was up to or whether he was "bonified" ( you have to say that with a very southern twang) . Was he the real deal or was this a trick?!

I believe he spent time with Cephas (Peter) and met the Lord's brother so that they could give a testimony that Paul- the murder and persecutor of the Christian church is who he said he is and that Christ had revealed himself to this man and recruited him to be a soldier for His kingdom.

Ladies and gentlemen- When we were not His soldiers we were his enemy.  " He who use to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy" That is each of us.

Matthew 12:30
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Dear Ones Before we knew Him, before He called us to Himself- we were against Him just as Paul was. No were not going around murdering Christians- but we did not glorify His name, we blasphemy and disgrace dishonored Him. Our hearts were no different than Paul's and Praise be to GOD that He saw fit to call us to Him. To call us His children!

Do not forget dear ones who you are and who you belong too!

Lord Heavenly Father
Thank you for the example we have in Paul- for the wretched man that he was and for the sanctification and eye opening he experienced to come to Christ. Thank you for your awe inspired Word so that we may live according to your riches in glory.... Thank you thank you thank you! May we rejoice in YOU- In Jesus Name Amen

How important is it to memorize the Word of God?

We often forget with the busyness of life how important it is to memorize the Word of God. We take for granted the access we have to The Word, and we honestly have this mindset that it will always be accessible to us. In our land that may not always be so- so tell me how much energy and time do you put into memorizing the Word of God?

In our home- we TRY- to make it very important for our younger children to memorize a verse a week. Duck has started again. I am so grateful for this little man's heart. He truly is so tender and so loving and attribute that to the Word that is hidden in his heart.

Daily Scripture and thoughts

Dear Saints and faithful readers
I have decided to do something different with my daily scripture and readings- I decided to start going through a whole book of the bible.

We will starting in Galatians

Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— and all the brothers who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:1-10 ESV)

The beginning starts with Paul greeting His brothers and sisters in Christ of the church of Galatia. Sending a blessing of peace. I love the way Paul starts His letters- reminding them from whom they are called and whom sacrificed Himself for them. Jesus the Christ-

He moves on quickly without hesitation to a serious matter. One that if not addressed  first would leave all matters null and void. The matter of the Gospel and the things at which they were allowing their ears to hear and their hearts to absorb.

Dear Ones- do you realize we do this every day?? We allow ourselves to hear and even absorb another Gospel. Most of the time it is antiChrist doctrine this world is preaching and teaching through social media and the media. We entertain ourselves with it. We listen and absorb it and in a way it plants a seed in our hearts that in turn twists the pure true Gospel of Christ.

We do not exam what our Pastors or elders say because we think " they stand in that pulpit preaching that what they are saying is true",
 " IS IT??"
have you studied the scripture for yourself... do you know that everything that proceeds out of HIS mouth is the true and unadulterated Gospel?? if not then you have some work to do.

In this section Paul is telling them, warning them of the false gospel that had begun to be preached and that they began to listen to.

Dear Ones
As you read this examine yourself- what have you began to believe in your own heart and live in your lives that you KNOW is contrary to the Gospel?

Are you accepting your own sin? making excuses that the World does it so I am not different?
If You have been called by His Name then you are expected and even demanded by His Word to not think or act like the World.

Praying that you will renew your mind each day with the truth of the Gospel.

Daily Scripture and Thoughts

Genesis 12:1-5
Chapter 12
The Call of Abram
Now the Lord said to Abram, “ Go from your country and your kindred and your father 's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy- five years old when he departed from Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother' s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan.

Dear Ones-

Have you wondered what does obedience look like?
Have you wondered if The Lord called what exactly would you do?

Abram- was a man like other men except that when God told him to do something he immediately obeyed. Imagine living some where for 75 years. You are well establised. You know people and are loved, and he says go and leave this place, and take everything and everyone with you. I can only imagine how crazy Sarai must have thought he was. She probably said - no way! Inspite of any objection he might have received, inspite of how Sarai might have reacted HE OBEYED.

The promise of blessings is incredible... because of his obedience.

Dear Ones- as we walk with The Lord in the light of His Word we are expected to have that same reaction as Abram- immediate and complete obedience in all things. We expect the blessings but do not want to fullfill our part. Our part is to relinquish ourselves, die to our flesh and follow hard after Him.

Do you struggle in sin?
Do you find yourself battling the same things over and over and over again?
Your lack of obedience and submission to the Word is manifesting. If you battle with sexual sin- and the internet is riddled with it- why are you on the internet???
If you battle with lying, stealing, manipulating truth for your own selfish gain-- Why??
The enemy has convinced you that you can only get things this way! Be truthful- allow God to cleanse you through His Word and stand for TRUTH...

Lord Help us to be a people who immediate obey when we hear your voice. Help us to love you more than we love ourselves. Lord- every time I sin, every time I find myself in that place am I am willing to nail my flesh to the cross and die to it. HOW MUCH MORE DO I LOVE YOU over my own flesh????

Lord help me Heavenly Father to love you more than my own life.
Where you lead I will follow!!

daily scripture and thoughts

For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:20 HCSB)

Dear Ones-
Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Scribes and Pharisees you will never enter the kingdom of heaven-

What does that mean?

Well at the time of Christ the most righteous people where the ones who read the scrolls and interpretted the scrolls which were the Scribes and Pharisees- and in that time they were the "righteous" ones  because of their wisdom, though they did not manifest the Words of The Lord in their lives or even interpretted the Word correctly. In their culture they were righteous. Though Christ called them hyprocrites because of the lack of the Word manifesting in their lives- these Words were to give us a comparison how righteousness.

Many of us do not know what righteous is, what it looks like or how to manifest in our lives.
We seek for our leaders within the church to guide us and manifest righteousness in their lives for us to follow. The Jewish people were no different.. except that many did not read, and no one had access to the scrolls, so they totally relied on the Pharisees and Scribes to manifest the truth for them. We are able to seek out righteousness through the Word for ourselves. Most of us can read, and see for ourselves what The Lord expects of us as Children of the King of Kings.

If you desire to live righteously, if you desire to know what the narrow path looks like - open the Word of Jesus Christ and allow His teaching to guide you.

Thank you Father- that you have shown us clearly what the path to righteousness is. Thank you that you have sent us your son! Lord guide us and open our eyes to truth.

How do you sum up ones life in 10 minutes:

This past weekend I went to a funeral of a family member to a brother in Christ who goes to our church. This man was one who lived a long life. He was 80 something when he passed away. His family who was left behind- had lots of words of how wonderful he was as a father, husband, grandfather and man who contributed to those around him. He supported local sports, and volunteered, was a man who was prompt if not early. ALL these wonderful blessings, he left a mark on the hearts of His family and those who knew him well.

One statement a familly member made has rung in my ears since he has said it- how do you sum up ones life in 10 minutes?

If someone had to sum up my life in 10 minutes- the first words I would want them say- not how wonderful I was as a mother because not all my children would say that, or how wonderful I was as a wife, because I sure my beloved could testify on the moments I was not wonderful, or how wonderful I was as a sister, because my sisters or brother will tell you all times I was not.

What I want said first is how much I LOVED my Lord and Savior. I want words to be said on How much I loved HIM and through loving Him how much I loved others. I want my testimony and life to be summed up on how I lived for Christ, how He changed me, how He brought me out of the miry clay to a life so full of Hope and Joy.

My life song has been this song:

Cant find the original - she doesnt do too bad

may I leave a legacy....
