fun times...

Camera Roll

These moments are so few when it comes to daddy, seeing him have fun and let loose. It seems like he works endlessly. He just never seems to have a moment in time to just have fun and enjoy life, his children, his home or even me. Do you wonder if  the mandate the Lord placed on man that," He will work by the sweat of his brow", if that is what He meant? Did he mean that you will never have fun, you will always be tired, and there be little to no enjoyment in life?!

I know and believe that Believers in Christ will suffer, if we are to take up our cross and follow after Christ. Christ suffered in this world. I just wonder if there are not to be any moments of joy?

Peace is a gift given by God, so we will experience peace inspite of the world chaos around us, and Joy is also the Lord's so we will experience His joy. But the Joy in life, do you wonder if we are suppose to have it? I wonder because if we enjoy this life too much, or love this world to much then our hearts will not yearn for Him, right?

The gift of family, of love, of a spouse, they are truly meant to be enjoyed...

As I sit and reflect on life, and my sweet husband, I am thankful that he has provided for me, for our children a very peaceful, loving and secure home. We all can never repay him for his sacrifices physically, his diligence or even the wonderful example he has been to each of us. Father's day is fast approaching and truly the gift He is- NONE of us can ever buy anything or share enough.

My beloved Samuel- my words are so empty and meaningless on how much you mean to me, how much I appreciate you (even when you make me mad) and How much I love you with all that I am. I am who I am because of the Love you have given me. I know that you love me because of the Love God has given you. I know and have not forgotten my own failures and sin, and think often how? WHY? Many women are not as blessed as I am and have been.

Thank you my sweet and beloved man!

Happy Father's Day

Obama care- really??

Today I got my first experience of  the "NOT an option" health care.. see Obama has tried to make it out like we have options in health care. Making it out like healthcare is available for everyone. Giving hope that this was to make sure that everyone is covered, but truly it is a way to control your options. To take away rights as an employee on what type of coverage you have, and who you can or can not cover.

Are we really getting to a place in America that we do not have an option as American people?

What did our soldiers fight for? My brother who served in three tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq war, sacrificed his health, hearing and memory, so that our options could be taken away? Any military member would not be fighting for our freedoms to be removed as they are. I also know He did not fight so that the judicial system who places court orders out there, for them to not be honored by someone without consequence. Where is justice?

Where is options?

What did these men die for?

Lord Help our country and the people within it.

There is no better way to describe my Saturday but as Craziness...

My brother, his girl, children and two dogs came into town. My brother came for a purpose, my car needed some serious maintenance done, and no better person than him to help me out, with his knowledge he has on cars.Since my beloved has not time, and has been working NONstop all year, and most Saturdays as well.

Little did we know the endeavor he was taking on. Just for the record, Chryslers are very hard to work on. But no challenge is truly to great if you face it head on, it also does help when you have many hands and heads.

The day began at 6am for me, I got up and got ready, woke the children and headed to Walmart for some quick grocery shopping without having my cup of coffee. Needless to say my brain functions on minimal capacity at that hour in the morning and no coffee.Example: I was chatting with my  mom via text so when my daughter text I thought I was still talking to my mom... never once did it register that the text that came through was from Maria. (see minimal capacity with NO coffee) I also was going to make baked oatmeal, never looking to see if I had oatmeal or not (which I did not) but of course I did not realize that till after I returned to from the store. (see minimal capacity)

The day progressed with much to do... meeting Mr and Mrs McIlvaine at DMV to get the camper, they are "giving" us, title switched over. In the meantime my brother is arriving to work on my car. Returning back from that task to face that the parts the auto parts store gave me were wrong, so off to store I went.( I lost count how many times I ran back and forth to that auto parts store. )

My brother tried to get stuff ready for when the parts would arrive (since they did not have all the parts in) when finally after a few hours of working on his own, Sammy showed up to help and not long my beloved arrived. It was a long day and night for all of them when the car finally got done with new seals, brakes, rotors, drums, oil, oil filter, and transmission filter at 6am Sunday morning.

After getting up at 3 am that morning to be at work by 6am, my husband at 3:30am Sunday morning finally just could not stay awake any longer.

In the meantime, Christy and I tried to manage the children, and dogs inside. Just as it was getting dark, Christy was letting her two dogs out when they caught sight of animal in the yard. They both took off after the animal. Christy thought at first they were chasing a dog when she realized that it was not a dog, but a skunk. So yes, as you guessed, both of her dogs were skunked. We had to jump back into the car and run to walmart to deskunk the dogs. ( deskunking is a taunting task, and is a smell that lingers on everything) By the time we layed our heads down I know it was after 12am.

So now you see why I say Craziness is the best way to describe my Saturday!!!

I love you all for your sacrifice and hard work!

Fleeting moments....

Moments in life are so fleeting. They happen in a flash and most of the time we just do not take the time to cherish it or we do not even recognize it's significance.

Yesterday I was on a country music kick. I listen to all kinds of music, not one genre do I like over another. Anyway- I was listening to country and came a cross a song I had never heard before. He didn't have to be by Brad Paisley ( ) At that moment the pain that I had not been feeling from an email received a few days ago came rushing into my heart. (but that is for another blog post- not this one)

If you have never heard this song, you have got to take the time. It's amazing. The song is about a boy whose father was not in his life, raised by a single momma, who dated. In watching men walk away from "them" because she had a child.(let's remember in these scenarios this affects the children as well) He waited patiently till that right man walked into his mother's life. He tells the story of how the man he calls dad, and his mother met, married and how this man who married his mom did not have to be the dad to him he was.

It made me think of my man- many you do not know my "story".( that is also for another blog post) He did not have to be a dad to my two oldest children. Sam knew their father, met him, and endured his madness right along with me. He did not have to be to PM and Bear what he was. Of course in thinking about all this it made me so so appreciative that the Lord brought my beloved in my life at the right time and the fact that Sam did not just want me, he wanted them as well. He has loved these two boys with every part of himself, made sacrifices for them, and endured many things for them.

When Sam came home from work I had been emotional for a few hours now. I did not know if my beloved had heard the song before so when He got home

I said," honey I have you heard this song?!" He is not good with song names, by the way, so

he said, "I am not sure."

I said "here listen to this song."

As the song started to play of course, I started to cry, and  my beloved took me into his arms and danced with me as I cried for everything He is and has been to me and my children.

Thank you is so empty compared to the gratitude I feel towards Him for saving me from me, and bringing love, security, dedication to a woman who had no idea what that looked like. For loving two children that are not his, and giving them a name, a family, and a life. I know one of them feels great gratitude towards him for all he has done.. and another- well lets just say he has cut us both out of his life. (that is also for another blog post)

Fleeting moments-- are just that  fleeting but if you do not grasp them with two hands they will be gone with out even a thought. This moment will be embedded in my heart forever...

we danced!

Zoo trip

Well there are some things that amaze me about having new people in our lives. The uniqueness of their lives, and the things they have not done in their lives. This Zoo trip was very special because the newest member of our family, Mitch, had never been to a zoo. Of course we had to remedy that situation- so a trip to the Washington Zoo was planned...

It was a hot day but filled with memories. I always feel so blessed to be around all these wonderful people and even more blessed that they want to be around me!
